Reduction of large labia: say goodbye to discomfort

Ageing, weight loss, or childbirth can give the labia majora (outer lips of the vulva) a wrinkled and flaccid appearance. Labia that are too large can cause physical discomfort when wearing certain types of clothing, for instance. Furthermore, aesthetics naturally also play a role. A labial reduction of the outer lips of the vulva can offer a solution.

Reduce the size of labia that are too large

During a labial reduction procedure on the labia majora, Dr. Vermeulen reduces the excess skin by means of a gentle incision on the inside of labia that are too large. The scar is positioned so it is virtually invisible and does not create any impairment.

If there has been a reduction in volume, a lipofilling may also help. Fat from the inside of the thighs is used to give the labia a fuller appearance. Alternatively, hyaluronic acid injections can also be applied. The vulva will become fuller once again and the labial reduction of the outermost lips of the vulva also means that the inner lips will be less visible.
